EXPERIENCE LEVELS

These are the five levels of competency used by the Australian Yachting Federation. It is very important that you start your weekend at the correct level and work up to where you want to be. Overestimating your ability will only hinder your progress.

1. BEGINNER (one design): Just starting out or wanting to review basics.

2. IMPROVING (one design): Wanting to improve gybes and tacks. Improving stance and learning to sail in all directions; Beachstarts etc.

3. INTERMEDIATE stronger winds-funboard or one design. Handling board in all directions in stronger winds. Learn and improve stance, harness, footstrap, centreboard & mast track use.

4. ADVANCED LONGBOARD Wanting to learn/improve carve gybes and waterstarts. Closing the slot, sail trim and improved foot steering.

5. ADVANCED SHORTBOARD

NOTE: The one design board is by far the best board for improving gybing & tacking basics. The weekends are about improving and moving from one level to the next. So start out where you need help. You cannot master a short board until you have mastered a fun board.

CONFIRM THE FOLLOWING:

  1. You as the operator of the tour shall not be responsible for any injury or damage, accident or loss, delay or irregularity that may be caused to person or property in connection with any services included in any tour.
  2. You have the right at your absolute discretion to cancel any trip at any time subject to refund of any deposit or other part payments of the contract sum in full.
  3. In the event of such cancellation, I acknowledge that subject to receipt by me of any monies forwarded on account to the tour cost, I shall have no right to claim damages from you on any account whatsoever.
  4. Where I have made the booking on behalf of persons other than myself I confirm that I am acting with the full consent of such persons and that I have full authorisation of such persons to bind them to the within agreement.
  5. The terms and conditions shall bind me, as well as my heirs, executors, administrators, assigns and legal personal representatives (together with all of my family including minors).
  6. I accept sole responsibility for the care of all equipment that I am assigned and use in the course of the tour. I agree to pay the full cost of repair if any of this equipment should become damaged for whatever reason, when it is in my possession (out side of damage covered by warranty). I understand that the cost of the repair will be at wholesale prices and kept to a minimum.
